From the age of 2 Robert Richards was a fishing fanatic. Growing up in Pennsylvania he spent fall and spring hunting, and the summers fishing on the Outer Banks. After graduating from High School Robert followed his passion for cooking and went on to culinary school. He soon realized that he needed to be somewhere where he could make a living at cooking and spend his time off fishing. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of Pennsylvania he headed to St John where he ended up working two jobs for several years. At some point he realized that his passion for fishing was overwhelming and he went from the kitchen to the sea where he has been ever since. Initially he worked for a few years with some of the best and most knowledgable fishermen around. Eventually he and his wife, Marni, started their own fishing charter business “Mixed Bag”. That was 23 years ago! We are sure he has plenty of fish tales to tell.
