Since 1988, St. Croix has hosted one of the world’ great endurance events, the Captain Morgan Ironman 70.3 Triathlon. From a choppy 1.2-mile swim in Christiansted harbor, racers are on to the challenging bike leg, a 56-mile circumnavigation of the island including the treacherous “Beast.” Bikers finally morph into runners and head out on a 13.1-mile run with the Finish back at the Fort.
